It is now perfectly normal to buy wallpaper online for a villa in Dubai, a fit-out in Sharjah or a hotel refurbishment anywhere in the Gulf — but the process is not quite the same as ordering a pair of shoes. Wallpaper is sold by the roll, printed in batches, and measured against real walls that are rarely the size anyone thinks they are. This guide walks through how ordering actually works in the UAE: samples, stock, quantities, delivery times and the handful of details that stop a good order going wrong.

Step one: always order samples before you buy wallpaper online
Screens lie. Every monitor renders colour differently, and a 500-pixel thumbnail cannot show you the sheen of a vinyl, the slub of a grasscloth or the weight of an embossed non-woven. A sample costs very little and settles the argument.
When the sample arrives, tape it to the actual wall — not to a desk — and look at it three times: in morning daylight, under the room’s own evening lighting, and with the curtains drawn. Gulf interiors swing between very bright and very warm, and a grey that looked sophisticated at 10am can read lilac at 8pm. If you are specifying for a client, get the sample approved in writing before the main order goes in.
Step two: work out how many rolls you actually need
This is where most people who buy wallpaper online come unstuck. Roll sizes vary by brand, and the pattern repeat changes everything — a design with a 64cm repeat wastes considerably more material than a plain texture.
- Measure the full width of every wall you intend to cover, in metres, and add them together.
- Measure floor-to-ceiling height at the tallest point, and add 10cm top and bottom for trimming.
- Check the roll dimensions and the pattern repeat on the product page — they are listed for every item.
- Calculate drops per roll: roll length divided by (wall height + repeat allowance), rounded down.
- Divide total wall width by roll width to get the number of drops required, then divide by drops per roll.
- Add one spare roll. Always. Offcuts, a damaged drop or a future repair will cost you far more later if the batch has sold out.
If that sounds like effort, send us the dimensions instead. Give us wall widths, ceiling height and the design you like, and we will come back with a roll count and a price — it takes us a few minutes and it removes the risk entirely.
Step three: check the batch, not just the design
Wallpaper is printed in production runs, and colour can shift very slightly between them. Rolls from one batch will match perfectly; rolls from two different batches on the same wall may not. Order the whole job at once, and if you are phasing a project across several months, tell us at the start so we can reserve stock from a single batch. For hotel and contractor work running over multiple floors, this single precaution prevents the most expensive kind of rework.

What is in stock, and what is not
Decor Establishment has distributed wallcoverings in the Gulf since 1974, and we hold exclusive distribution rights in the UAE, Oman, Qatar and Bahrain for the brands we carry — Wallquest, Grandeco, Zambaiti Parati, SK Filson, Holden, Paper & Ink and Sellers & Josephson, along with the Elie Saab Maison and Automobili Lamborghini designer collections and Grandeco Little Dreamers for children’s rooms. Most of what you see in our online wallcovering catalogue is held in the Deira warehouse.
One advantage of choosing a distributor rather than a marketplace when you buy wallpaper online is candour about stock. Where an item is not in local stock, we will tell you honestly and give you an indicative lead time rather than leaving the order in limbo. Designer and mural lines are the usual exceptions, as panels are often produced to order. You can browse the full manufacturer libraries — Zambaiti Parati publishes its complete collections online — and then ask us what is available here.
Delivery across the UAE and the wider GCC
Standard delivery is three to seven days to addresses across the UAE, and the same window applies to our exclusive territories in Oman, Qatar and Bahrain. Bulk and trade enquiries from Saudi Arabia and India are welcome as well, though availability varies by brand — ask us and we will confirm before you commit.
A few practical notes for site deliveries: nominate someone who can actually receive and check the rolls, keep them flat and dry rather than standing in a hot corridor, and open the packaging to verify batch numbers on arrival rather than on the morning the installer turns up.

Do not forget the adhesive
An online order that arrives without adhesive is a half-finished order. Different substrates need different products, and heavy vinyls in an air-conditioned Gulf building are unforgiving of a weak paste. We supply ACM adhesive from Italy alongside our wallcoverings — it holds non-wovens and heavy vinyls reliably in UAE conditions and gives installers enough working time to align panels properly, which is essential with murals. Add it to the order at the same time as the rolls.
While you are at it, consider whether the project needs coordinating fabrics for curtains and upholstery, or Adore LVT from our flooring range — ordering everything together means one delivery and one batch check instead of three.
Trade accounts and bulk orders
Most of our business is B2B: interior designers, contractors, hotel groups and wholesalers ordering by the project rather than by the roll. Trade customers get project pricing, batch reservation, roll-count support and consolidated delivery. If you specify wallcoverings regularly, it is worth opening an account rather than buying ad hoc.
Ready to order?
Browse the collections, request samples of your shortlist, and send us the wall dimensions — that is the whole process when you buy wallpaper online with us. If you would rather see full drops in person, the Deira showroom in Dubai and our Sharjah branch have the current collections on display, and the team can talk through scale, finish and quantities with you. For samples, stock checks, project pricing or a trade account, contact us here and we will come back to you the same working day.
