CL71008 — Wallquest Carl Robinson 21 Thames Wallpaper, Slate in Carl Robinson 21

Description

The Thames Slate wallpaper is Carl Robinson’s homage to the drawing office of a classic boatyard: technical line drawings of sailing yachts, keel sections, rigging plans and measured annotations, set out in slate grey ink on a warm cream linen-textured ground. It is the Edition 21 ‘Gentleman’ collection at its most quietly intelligent, a nautical wallpaper that avoids every cliché of anchors and stripes and instead celebrates the craft of naval architecture.

The drawings are large in scale, with a sloop in full sail, a plan view of the hull and smaller detail studies arranged across the width of the roll, so the pattern reads as a composed blueprint rather than a busy repeat. The slate ink on cream is restrained enough to live with for years. You can view the coordinating Oceanic colourway (CL71002) on a deep blue ground and the rest of the book in the full Carl Robinson 21 collection here.

The Thames Slate wallpaper suits a study, a boy’s bedroom that will grow up with him, a coastal villa hallway, a yacht club lounge or a marina office. Because the ground is a neutral cream it works as a whole-room paper as readily as a feature wall, and it sits well with navy paintwork, white tongue-and-groove panelling, brass fittings and natural rope and timber. Printed on Type II vinyl, it is wipeable and durable enough for corridors and commercial reception areas.

Practical notes: Thames Slate is supplied as a 27-inch (68.5 cm) by 9-yard (8.2 m) roll of Type II vinyl with a straight match and a large repeat, so allow extra for pattern matching when estimating and tell us the wall heights so we can confirm how many drops each roll yields. Hang it over a lining paper for a flat, blueprint-like finish, and consider centring the main yacht drawing on the focal wall. Rolls should be ordered from one batch for colour consistency.

Decor Establishment supplies Wallquest across Dubai, Sharjah and the wider UAE, with showroom samples, batch-matched contract quantities and specification support for residential, hospitality and commercial interiors. Thames Slate (CL71008) is held by the roll in Dubai and we can advise on pattern placement so the yacht drawings land where you want them on the wall.
